Standard Features in Apartments & Cottages

Apartments:

Wall to wall carpeting; apartment kitchens include refrigerator, full size electric range, double sinks, garbage disposal with options of adding dishwashers, microwaves, and ice makers. Each apartment has an outdoor patio or balcony with outside storage. All apartments have 24 hour security system in each bedroom and bathroom, as well as individual smoke detectors. You also have individually controlled heat and air. There is plenty of ample outside adjacent parking for apartment dwellers. All apartment buildings have 1st floor common areas for social gatherings and comfortable waiting areas. The apartments offer a great opportunity for lots of social interaction with other residents.

Cottages:

Wall to wall carpeting; Washer/dryer; dishwasher; refrigerator with ice maker; and electric range are all standard with options of adding microwaves. Each unit has outdoor patios or courtyard areas, individually controlled heat and air, smoke detectors, 24 hour emergency call system in each bedroom and bathroom, safety designed bathrooms, and spacious storage. Standard cottages have single carports, and larger duplex cottages have an over-sized double garage.

Recreational Activities and Other Amenities

The Commons and nearby Wilbourn Recreation Building provide a wide range of planned social, cultural, recreational, and spiritual activities for those who wish to participate. Facilities include heated indoor swimming pool, whirlpool, and fitness room with Universal exercise equipment, crafts room, lounges for conversation, large screen TV, library, and chapel. Spacious and attractive dining room; private intimate dining room for a small private party; activities auditorium for meetings, guest speakers, seminars, and cultural events; regularly scheduled entertainment, exhibits, displays, and concerts. A limited number of guest apartments may be reserved for your overnight guests on a first come, first served basis. If guest apartments are unavailable, there are many hotel and motel choices within close proximity to Parkway Village.

1. MEALS

   Meals are served daily in our spacious and beautiful dining room. No reservation is required except for large parties of more than 4 people. And you never have to worry about tipping our servers.

   The monthly residence fee provides one meal per day for apartment residents and 20 meals per month for cottage residents with the option of adding additional meals. Noon and evening meals are served Monday – Friday. On Saturday, Sunday, and major holidays only the noon meal is served. In addition, noon tray service to your home is available if illness prevents you from coming to the dining hall.

2. UTILITIES

   Water, sewer, gas, electricity, trash disposal, and pest control are all included in your monthly fee. You are only responsible for your personal telephone, cable TV, and Internet service.

3. MAINTENANCE
   

   Both interior and exterior will be maintained in apartments and cottages, including appliances, lawn service, and pest control. We take care of changing air filters and will even change your overhead light bulbs.

4. TRANSPORTATION
   

   We always offer any on campus transportation you may need at anytime. We will also provide free transportation to physician and dental appointments in the Little Rock area. Just give us at least a 24-48 hour notice about your appointment and we’ll see that you get there on time and back home when your appointment is complete. We also offer opportunities each week for trips to the grocery store, banking, and shopping centers in our area. Transportation can be arranged for a minimal charge to the airport and certain cultural events in our area.

5. SECURITY
   

   On-campus security is provided by Parkway Village staff 24 hours a day. This includes monitoring an emergency call system and smoke alarms located in each residence.

6. ACTIVITIES

   Recreational, cultural, spiritual, and social activities; crafts; guest speakers and concerts are just some of the regularly scheduled activities we offer.

7. TELEVISION
   

   A central antenna outlet for local stations is provided in each living room and bedroom. Units are cable-ready for those who choose purchase cable services.

8. HOUSECLEANING
   

   Housecleaning services are provided weekly for apartment dwellers at no additional charge. This service is optional for all cottage dwellers and there is a nominal fee for this service in cottages.

9. LAUNDRY FACILITIES

   While apartments do not have individual washers and dryers, there are common laundry rooms on each floor of apartment buildings. The washers and dryers are NON-COIN operated and you are free to use them at anytime.

   Cottages are equipped with individual washers and dryers. Cottages with carports have a stack washer/dryer unit. The larger cottages with garages have a full size washer and dryer.

10. HEALTHCARE CREDIT
    

    One pre-paid day, up to $90 per day, in the Parkway Healthcare Center (skilled nursing home) is earned for each month of Parkway Village residency, up to a one total of 60 days per resident for short-term (min. 2 weeks) or long-term nursing care.

11. NURSE
    

    A nurse is on duty, part-time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM for consultation.

12. LIBRARY

    For the casual or serious reader a good selection of books and periodicals are available. We also have computer with Internet access located in the library.

13. ACTIVITIES AUDITORIUM
    

    An attractive and spacious auditorium provides a large screen television, grand piano, and group seating for formal and informal gatherings. An adjoining meeting/game room can be reserved for private parties, card games or other group activities. There is also a kitchen located in the game room for your convenience.

14. CHAPEL
    

    The chapel is always open for private meditation. Ecumenical services are scheduled weekly.

15. CONVENIENCE STORE
    

    Basic grocery, sundry items, greeting cards, and other items are available for purchase.

16. HAIR CARE

    A beauty/barber shop is located in the Commons Building for resident’s convenience. There are charges for individual service, but no tipping or taxes are required.

17. RECREATION BUILDING
    

    The Wilbourn Recreation Building includes a 50 ft. heated indoor swimming pool, whirlpool and fitness room with Universal exercise equipment. There is also lots of opportunity for instructor-lead group exercise.

18. PROPERTY TAXES and INSURANCE
    

    The monthly residence fee also covers all property taxes and property insurance. Residents are required to carry insurance on their personal belongings in their apartment or cottage and it is also beneficial to carry personal liability insurance.
