Baptist Health is pleased to offer Parkway Health Center, a full service nursing facility located on beautiful 87 acre campus of Parkway Village, Arkansas' premier continuing care retirement community. Parkway Health Center is a private not-for-profit facility. Both Parkway Health Center and Parkway Village are sponsored by Baptist Health and share the benefits of belonging to the state's leading private healthcare system. Parkway Health Center is a long-term care facility which offers 24 hour personal, intermediate and rehabilitative services. Our goal is to help each of our residents reach and maintain his or her maximum potential by providing an environment that responds to physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs. Rehabilitation services are available as prescribed by each resident's physician, including physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy.
An excellent staff-to-resident ratio allows Parkway Health Center to provide the finest, most comprehensive professional nursing and rehabilitative services. Our staff consists of a director of nursing, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, an activities coordinator and certified nursing assistants. At regularly scheduled conferences, professionals from each discipline review the profile of each resident and individual goals are measured, developed and updated. The healthcare team also incorporates a medical director, a licensed pharmicist, a registered dietician, therapists, and a social services consultant. Spiritual guidance and support are an integral part of Parkway Health Center. Our active chapel committee visits each resident weekly working under the direction of the Parkway Health Center chaplain. Chapel services are held weekly.
The overall atmosphere of Parkway Health Center is designed to accomodate the necessary health tasks, yet always presents a warm and pleasant environment. Accomodations include both private and semi-private rooms; each room is attractively furnished, including a nurse call system and electronic beds. Rehabilitation areas, beauty/barber shop, whirlpool bathing, dining room, dayrooms, chapel, and enclosed courtyards are convenient for residents to enjoy. In order to enhance the quality of life for residents, a variety of activities and social opportunities are available. Monthly birthday celebrations, current events discussions, crafts, holiday celebrations, bingo, Bible study, music activities, and travelogues are just some of the many interesting programs that are provided and encouraged.
Parkway Health Center accepts residents who are 55 years of age and older on either a short term (respite care) or long term basis. Nursing care, housekeeping, meals, linen service and residential programs are provided on a daily basis. Additional services are offered on a fee-for-service basis; for instance, charges for physician visits, pharmaceuticals, laboratory tests, x-rays, therapy and private telephones. Other elective services include beauty/barber shop, personal laundry and disposable items.
